Let’s face it. Oil companies don’t exactly have the best reputation. People are increasingly concerned about the environment and are naturally suspicious of these huge brands. Chevron is the largest provider of clean, renewable, geothermal energy on the planet. They are also the No.1 US oil company to invest in alternative energy resources. McGarryBowen wanted to harness these facts and create a campaign which would include people, not preach to them. Their thinking was that no individual person has the solution to the world’s energy crisis, but that together we can strive to overcome it. This was to be a ground-breaking campaign. Shot in 13 countries and costing over $15 million, the campaign was directed by Lance Accord (Lost in Translation) and featured the voice of renowned US indie actor Campbell Scott. The shoot took place over 12 months, with 3 different units simultaneously shooting in various countries.
