When working on any kind of children’s programming, and with music for animation in particular, the rulebook is thrown out of the window. And with Halloween as the subject matter, it was time to experiment! In this case, the fun involved us hitting actual pumpkins with spoons for use in the final track.
As this was being produced as a promotional spot for Disney we had to incorporate the existing Disney mnemonic seamlessly into the track. So we worked towards creating a fun, light-hearted, spooky sounding track with the well-known four note Disney mnemonic at the end.
The final track included magical bells, pumpkin percussion and a ghostly sounding theramin, with the Channel Identity being broadcast throughout Europe.
