Rage were invited to pitch our ideas for a new Anthem for USOC, the previous US Olympic Anthem having been written by legendary composer John Williams (ET, Star Wars, Indiana Jones). Being quite certain that USOC would never commission a non-US composer, we went ahead regardless and pitched a simple piano version of what we envisioned as a full orchestral track.
After receiving positive feedback on this initial track, we expanded it to show how it would work with an orchestra. We were incredibly honoured when we were informed that our track had been selected, thus becoming the first non-Americans commissioned to compose an anthem for the US Olympic Committee. So work began. The original track evolved and grew to become “Glory Of Pursuit”, a contemporary anthem for America’s Olympians and their supporters. The track follows the dreams and dedication of Olympic hopefuls in their journey to compete in the games. It is optimistic, hopeful and anthemic.
